THE BEST OF SWITZERLAND TOURS: Mt. Titlis, Engelberg, Zurich Switzerland
After paying CHF56.80 ($58) for that ten minutes ride in a Mercedes C Class from the train station to the hotel, I knew right-away this was going to be a very interesting vacation.
The city of Zurich, Switzerland is a world center for banking and finance. Being the largest city of Switzerland, and also known for its cleanliness and efficiency, no wonder this city has been continuously ranked as the city with the highest living standard globally.
Zurich is also ranked as the third priciest place in the world, and the most expensive city in Europe.

Although I slept for the most part during the 4 hours train ride from Frankfurt to Zurich, all I wanted to do was just check in to the hotel and sleep for the rest of the day.
Early the next morning, while trying to buy the ticket online for the tour, there was no availability for same day ticket online, I felt a bit disappointed with the fact that all major online tour sites didn’t have availability. But then while still searching the internet, I came across zeurich.com, the only site that has 1 availability left. I wasted no second further. I purchased the ticket right-away. And then, the adventures began.
The best of Switzerland tour started with an escorted coach journey which departed at Bus Station Zürich, Sihlquai. The tour bus takes you through the beautiful countryside via Albis Passand along the shores of the Lake of the Four Cantons to Lucerne. During the bus ride, there was a brief orientation, also the tour guide narrates the main attractions of the city of Zurich in general.
The first stop was at the Lion Monument, Lucerne for some pictures. During this short photo stop, you can explore other places like the Chapel Bridge, the Town Hall, the Jesuit Church, etc.

After taking couple of pictures, I decided to go shopping / window shopping. I did check out some really nice Swiss Military watches. They were really nice, and so are they really expensive. Again, its swiss, things are not cheaper here.
I needed to replace the battery for my watch, so I enquired from the store and I was told it would cost CHF25, that’s about $26. I felt that was a rip-off since I knew for a fact that most stores in the US does that for $15. I decided to buy some souvenirs instead.

Fast forward to arriving at Mt. Titlis, the breathtaking journey with different aerial cable cars to the top of the mountain was exciting. I couldn’t wait to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Swiss Alps from the Rotair revolving cable car which goes up to the top of this snow wonderland.

As high as 10,000 ft above sea level, this tour promises a high alpine panorama. And it is a tour that is doable all year round. Yes, you read that right, all year round. Winter or Summer.
Here, I stopped for a moment to enjoy this beautiful view around the restaurants. Really, it’s beautiful up there.

I spent some little time knocking on those snow-wall inside the slippery Glacier Cave. At this point, it was getting really cold up there, but I was feeling the fun more than the cold.
To truly experience the fun at Mt. Titlis, you have to try the very popular Titlis Ice Flyer. The ice flyer chair lift sweeps you up above 10,000 ft high as you enjoy more of the breathtaking panoramic views of the mountain.

Titlis Cliff Walk:
Built at around 10,000 ft above sea level, this highest suspension bridge in Europe is built along the cliff of Mt. Titlis Swiss Alps. This 100 meters (300 ft) long, and one meter (3 ft) wide suspension bridge stretches from one rock face to the other. It broke the record of highest suspension bridge in Europe from Sabit Bridge, also located in Switzerland.

I enjoyed more beautiful views from the Xpress Aerial Cable Car while descending from the top of the mountain as we made our ways back to the tour bus.

The tour ended around about 5pm with a bus ride back to Bus Station Zürich, Sihlquai.
In conclusion, the tour was a very interesting one. It was worth every penny and the entire day spent. Switzerland is known to have so much options as far as Things To Do is concerned. This is a family friendly tour. There are quite a lot of kids-friendly activities up there.
