Flying Qatar Airways Qsuite – Unparalled Luxury and Privacy
by Kayode
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Qatar Airways Qsuite on board their Boeing 777-300ER, and I must say it was an extraordinary journey that surpassed all my expectations. From the moment I stepped on board, I was immersed in a world of luxury and unparalleled comfort. Here’s my review of this remarkable business-class product.
After about an hour positioning flight from New York LaGuardia Airport to YUL (Montreal) Airport Canada, we began the Qsuite experience the moment we dropped off our luggage at the check-in counter.
As a datapoint, the YUL airport seems to be the best airport with availability for Qsuites. So, if you’re flexible and doesn’t mind taking a positioning flight to Montreal, you should consider looking here.
Qatar Airways utilizes the National Bank Lounge, which is nothing compared to the Al Mourjan lounge in Doha but was a good enough place to just kill some time before boarding.
Boarding was slightly chaotic and seeing that the ground crew boarded passengers in business class first before boarding those with special needs really saddened my heart. There were lots of elderly people in wheelchairs which, deserved to be boarded first, and seeing them just sitting by the jet bridge was quite disappointing. Anyways, we were onboard after another 15 minutes of the crew trying to figure things out.
The Qatar Airways’ Qsuite is undeniably one of the most luxurious and innovative business class products available in the industry, and without a doubt, “the best business class in the world.”
The Qsuite is also a class apart when it comes to privacy and personal space. Each seat features an innovative sliding door system that allows passengers to create their own private oasis. Whether you’re traveling alone or with a companion, the seats can be transformed into a cozy double bed or configured for face-to-face dining, making it perfect for families or business travelers. The dividers between the seats can be raised for added privacy, ensuring a truly exclusive experience.

The Qsuite offers a spacious and comfortable seat that converts into a fully flat bed, allowing passengers to relax and rest during long-haul flights. The seat provides ample legroom and width, ensuring a comfortable journey. The cabin layout is designed in a 1-2-1 configuration, which gives every passenger a direct aisle access.
My wife was seated in Suite 9J, which would be my first recommendation if you were to pick a seat in the rear business class cabin. Reason being this seat has 3 full windows and is forward facing. My suite 10K was a true window seat, rear facing, and I could easily see the view of the engine without stretching my neck. I purposely picked this seat since this would be my first time in a rear facing seat on an airplane. Although, this seat and Row 11 may not be suitable for all passengers due to its’ proximity to bassinet seats behind the rear business class cabin.
Refreshing towels and pre-departure drinks were served after settling in. We began our pushback at 9:57pm, just 2 minutes behind the scheduled time, and we were up in the air a moment later.
The dining experience in the Qsuite is nothing short of extraordinary. Passengers can enjoy a delectable à la carte menu featuring a variety of gourmet dishes prepared by world-class chefs. The presentation of the meals is exceptional, and the quality of the ingredients used is evident in every bite. The airline also offers an extensive selection of champagne, fine wines, and spirits to complement the dining experience. Qatar Airways also offers a dine-on-demand service, meaning that passengers can dine at any time of their choosing, and in any order.
I began the inflight dining experience with “So Jennie,” a delicious alcohol-free pale pink sparkling beverage solely made of the finest grapes. This non-alcoholic Rosé became my favorite drink right after the first sip.
My first course of the night was the Parsnip and McIntosh apple soup (mint crème fraiche and toasted focaccia). First course of the night was the Parsnip and McIntosh apple soup (mint crème fraiche and toasted focaccia).
For Appetizer, I opted for the Double Crusted Smoked Salmon with Chimichurri mayonnaise, which I thought was okay, but Mrs. The Points Engineer had a different take on this.
Main course had the option between “Surf and Turf with beef jus, chicken bulgogi with jasmine rice (which my wife rated 6/10), or the Lobster Thermidor with saffron dill risotto. I opted for the Lobster Thermidor with saffron dill risotto which was quite tasty.
For our Desserts, we opted for the Mont Blanc Sundae and fresh berries with caramelized chestnuts.

Qatar Airways pays meticulous attention to detail, providing high-quality bedding and a luxurious duvet, ensuring a restful sleep during its’ long-haul flights. Additionally, each seat is equipped with a large, high-definition entertainment screen. The in-flight entertainment system on this Boeing 777-300ER is top-notch, with a vast library of movies, TV shows, music, and games. I was even surprised to have seen Nigerian and African movies onboard.
The high-definition screen and noise-canceling headphones provided a truly immersive entertainment experience, ensuring that time flew by during the flight. In addition to the overhead bin, there were other personal storage compartments around the seat, as well as conveniently placed power outlets, 2 USB ports, and HDMI port.
With about 6 more hours before we arrive in Doha, I decided to make use of the complimentary Wi-Fi provided by Qatar Airways but unfortunately the internet connection wasn’t available. I instead decided to look at the maps.
On this flight, we were provided with amenity kits containing luxury skincare products exclusively designed for Qatar Airways by diptyque Paris. Pajamas, which are also exclusively made for Qatar Airways by The White Company London, and slippers to enhance the in-flight comfort.
The lavatories in the business class cabins have ample space and were kept very clean throughout the flight. I give kudos to the crew of this flight QR764 for going above and beyond in making the flight enjoyable for us.
With about 2 hours remaining and majority of the passengers still sleeping, I got up from my very comfortable lie-flat bed. Though I only slept for about 3 hours out of this 12-hour flight, I woke up feeling very relaxed and well rested.

Prior to landing, we were treated to another round of food and beverage. Breakfast was served at this time, even though it was about 90 minutes before landing and the local time in Doha was 3:30pm. But I think serving breakfast is somehow justifiable, especially since we left Montreal in the evening for this red-eye flight.
For starters, I opted for Greek yogurt with blueberry compote and apple cinnamon granola.
About 40 minutes before landing, and as we began our descent into Doha, the main (breakfast) course was quickly served.
I had ordered the Spanish omelet with chicken sausage (creamy spinach, cherry tomato, and homemade baked beans). I washed it down with banana, honey, and almond smoothie which was very good.

Our flight QR764 landed in Doha at 4:56pm, and we taxied on the runway for another 10 minutes before reaching our gate. In addition to the unparalled and luxurious experience we had onboard, my wife and I were blown away when we were told we could clear immigration using the First and Business Class Lounge. Immigration screening at this empty lounge was a breeze, and we spent some little time here before headed to our hotel in downtown Doha.
MY VERDICT:
Overall, the Qatar Airways’ Qsuite is undoubtedly the best business class in the world because it offers an outstanding business class experience than other airlines. With its spacious and comfortable seats, exceptional privacy features, top-notch in-flight dining, and excellent service, the Qsuite ensures a luxurious and enjoyable journey for passengers.
The service provided by the Qatar Airways cabin crew on this flight QR764 was second to none. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. The crew members were well-versed in the art of hospitality and made us feel like a valued guest throughout the flight.
I highly recommend the Qatar Airways’ Qsuite for an unforgettable travel experience. It’s a testament to the airline’s commitment to excellence and their dedication to providing passengers with an unparalleled journey.
I felt like 12 hours wasn’t even enough to enjoy everything that Qsuite offers, and we can’t wait to be back onboard our next flight in Qsuite. Especially since this flight is very attainable with points and miles, and the best part for me was the fact that it doesn’t even require hundreds of thousands of points/miles to book this $10,000 flight. This is truly a solid way of redeeming 70K Avios.
