Lounge Review: The Club at LAS
After my short flight from San Francisco to Las Vegas in a quest to document what it feels like traveling during the global pandemic (Covid-19), arriving at LAS airport at 9:00am means that it might be a bit too early to go check in at the hotel. Instead, I decided to visit one out of the two The Club at LAS which is a member of Priority Pass program, which as at the time of this review allows guests to access the lounge even upon arrival.
I was checked in by a friendly and courteous front desk attendant, using my Priority Pass card, Government-issued ID, and my Boarding Pass.
After check in, turning right leads you to a very roomy dining area. In this area you’ll find a very long communal dining table with high tops chairs. On the table you’ll find range of power outlets but no USB ports. There are some other tables that can accommodate a party of 4.
Food:
Honestly speaking, The Club at LAS lounge is the best among all the Club lounges I’ve ever been to. While most of the other the Club lounges only provides snacks, this club offers hot breakfast, lunch, and I can as well say dinner. During my visit, the breakfast offering was Oatmeal, Eggs Frittatas, Vanilla Infused French Toast, Smoked Bacons, Breakfast Potatoes, Fresh Seasonal Fruits, Parfaits, Assorted Coffee Cakes, Assorted Breakfast Breads, Cereals, as well as condiments.
There seems to be everything to satisfy almost everyone’s appetite. There’s also a Nescafé machine with variety of options. You’ll also find several Teas next to the coffee machine. Strawberry water, as well as water with lemon is also available at this lounge during my visit.
The Bar Area:
The bar at The Club Lounge LAS also did not disappoint. You’ll find assorted premium drinks on display. During my time at the lounge, the 2 friendly bar attendants were making several cocktails and they offered me to try some of them if I wish. I instead requested they make me anything non-alcoholic. They were delighted, and they made me Virgin Tequila Sunrise which was really good.
Sitting Area:
Although the lounge was empty due to the Covid-19 (Corona Virus) outbreak, I must say that the lounge has lots of seating options. As a matter of fact, there are 3 different seating areas apart from the dining area. Walking from the dining area to the next sitting area, this area seems like an extension of the dining area. With each of the chairs in this room also having tables.
You’ll also find 2 TVs on the wall in this dining area, another TV at the bar, and also another TV in the last sitting area. There are also 3 media boards in 3 out of the 4 rooms, with each one of them displaying departure flights only.
Let me quickly say that I accessed this lounge on arrival, not before departure. This is one of the best benefits that Priority Pass offers and we hope it’s not taken away anytime soon.
The other 2 seating areas at this lounge feels more private. While it may not be this quiet during your visit, it does looks peaceful and calming during my time here. These 2 seating areas which is towards the end of the lounge has loungers with foot rest, cubicle seats which offers personal privacy, and some other comfortable single seater chairs with many of them still having tables. The lounge is well decorated and you’ll find wall decor in and around the lounge area.
Business Center:
There is a business center on the far end corner of the lounge with 2 computers and each one having its own printer. There’s also a long communal table with ergonomic chairs where you can get some work done.
Media:
While I did not find any magazine at the lounge, the lounge does provide newspapers. There’s a newspaper stand towards the door that leads to the restroom area.
Restroom:
There’s a visible sign directing patrons to where the restroom is located. The restroom is located at the end of a narrow hallway. Although the restroom wasn’t spotless, but it was clean and okay. And in case you’re wondering, no, this lounge does not have a shower.
WiFi:
Like every other The Club Lounge, this lounge is no different. The lounge does not have its own personal WiFi, instead the free airport WiFi is being utilized at this lounge. And while you’ll think the WiFi speed would be basic, surprisingly it’s actually not. The internet speed at the McCaran (LAS) airport is in fact better and faster than many so-called enhanced internet at many hotels and resorts.
The WiFi did pass The Points Engineer WiFi speed test with download speed at 85.37 Mbps and upload speed at 95.61
The staff:
The staff at The Club Lounge LAS is really friendly no kidding. They are always making eye contact and conversations. Asking if you need anything, or want them to refill your glass. And I also found them cleaning and sanitizing the tables and counters at intervals during my time here at this lounge.
At 11:00am as I was rounding off my review, the kitchen staff was getting ready for lunch. Breakfast was being taken away as lunch menu was being displayed. It was great seeing this lounge becoming more busy at this time than it was in the morning.
Lunch menu:
Vegetable Mediterranean Soup, Italian Wedding Soup, Assorted Breads, Salads, Caprese Sandwich, BLT Chicken Salad Sandwich, Egg Salad Sandwich, Coconut Curry Chicken, Cilantro Lime Rice, Mango Bruschetta with Balsamic Glaze, Fresh-Made Cookies, and Brownies.
My take on this lounge:
Again, this was the best The Club Lounge I’ve ever visited and the 3 hours I spent at this lounge was well worth it.
What’s there not to like at this lounge? Plenty of comfortable seats, friendly staff, great food, and drinks, high-speed internet, and many more. I honestly would ditch the American Express Centurion Lounge in Las Vegas for this one.
Have you been to this lounge before or planning a trip to Las Vegas soon (after the outbreak of course)? I’d love to read your comments and answer any of your questions.
