3 days into the new year 2021 and I was super excited to be taking my first flight of the year in the famous Delta One. While the flight did not provide lounge access, thanks to my Platinum Card from American Express which offers Delta SkyClub access when flying same day on Delta Airlines.
The Delta SkyClub Terminal 4 is quite a long walk from the TSA Checkpoint. Realistically speaking, the walk is a bit deceptive, and at some point, I asked myself “are we there yet”? If you’re flying out of another terminal and you’d like to visit the Terminal 4 Delta SkyClub, I’ll suggest you prepare for a 30-minute walk (roundtrip).
Located near Gate 32, this SkyClub is one of the two Delta’s lounges at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Using the escalator one floor up from the concourse level, there were many attendants present with only one person in line. Check in was quick, all I had to do was scanning my boarding pass and then swiping my platinum card, with the front desk attendants sitting behind the plexiglass partitions.

The layout of the lounge consists of different rooms with several seating areas. There seems to be something for everyone, no matter what type of seats you fancy. There are power outlets and USB ports at almost every seat.
FOOD & BEVERAGE:
One of the things that sets Delta apart from other airlines’ lounges was its’ food offering. Operating airport lounges during this pandemic has been a challenge for many airlines, but Delta Airline is doing a great job in keeping its SkyClub operational and providing a great service with safety in mind.
The food and beverage offerings were very impressive, given that most other airlines are currently not offering anything closer to this. There were hot soups, packaged sandwiches, several salads, snacks, and fresh fruits. Although the food is spread out in a buffet style, you are not allowed to take any of the food by yourself. A member of staff is on standby to attend to your request.
There were high tables and chairs at designated dining area with automated hand sanitization stations at every corner around the lounge, and social distancing decals visibly provided.

The bar was fully stocked and operational. There were also coffee stations located on each side of the lounge, but not around the dining area.
Families travelling together have a designated seating area reserved for them.
For plane spotters or aviation geeks, the Delta SkyClub Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy makes a great place for some plane entertainment.
OTHER AMENITIES:
The restroom is well apportioned and I think the red color is dreamy. The lounge also has shower rooms which was closed due to COVID-19.
WIFI:
With business travelers in mind, the Delta SkyClub offers an enhanced internet that is faster than many of the other airport lounges. With a download speed of 133.90 Mbps and a download speed of 189.86 Mbps.
MY TAKE:
The Delta SkyClub provides a space to escape from the hustle and bustle of airport terminals. Delta airlines actually proved that operating an airport lounge during this pandemic can be done while still having the safety of its’ guests and staff in mind. With plenty of comfortable seats and power outlets at almost every seat, above average food spread and more, the Delta SkyClub is one lounge I would love to visit again and again. I look forward to what becomes of the lounge once things return back to normal.
This was a great read, straight to the point while providing thorough breakdown of the lounge. Would definitely love to visit this lounge myself! Will you be doing a comparison review between the other Delta lounge at JFK in the future?
Absolutely! I’ll do a review of the other Delta SkyClub next time I’m flying out of JFK. Stay tuned, and thanks for reading
