On a 3-hour layover in Miami after our First Class flight from New York JFK, it was exciting to be able to stop by at the American Airlines Flagship Lounge. Located near Gate D30 at the Miami International Airport, the American Airlines Flagship Lounge is AA’s premium lounge with better amenities and services than its’ Admirals Club.
I have reviewed the Admirals Club Miami – Gate D30 about 2 years ago, at the time when the Flagship Lounge was still closed due to Covid. After checking in with one of the 2 agents on the concourse level, I was presented a black card as an invitation to the largest American Airlines Flagship Lounge.
The Flagship Lounge can be accessed by passengers flying in First or Business Class on qualifying international or Transcon flights. Certain Oneworld elites can also access this lounge irrespective of the class of cabin they’re flying in. American Airlines also offers daily access pass which can be purchased for a single use at the location where it was purchased.
As a premium lounge, you are welcomed with a glass of Louis Roederer champagne (to those who fancy it), and a warm smile.
The American Airlines Flagship Lounge Miami Gate D30 offers plenty of comfortable seats with more than enough power outlets and wireless chargers.
There are also multiple communal tables with highchairs for patrons to sit and enjoy a delicious meal or drinks. Guests can also utilize this area to get some work done at the same time.
According to American Airlines, the airline is in partnership with the Beard Foundation, an organization which “celebrates and supports the people behind America’s food culture.” The lounge offers delicious meals, as well as premium drinks.
There are multiple self-serve beverage machine locations present in the lounge where guests can fill their glasses with soda, coffee, water, juice, and much more.
Guests flying in Flagship First Class and Concierge Key members also have access to the Flagship First Dining which offers a tailored and personalized table service.
The lounge also offers select premium alcohol, which I believe is self-serve.
The amenities on offer won’t be complete without showers. This lounge have shower rooms readily available for guests to use.
The restroom was kept spotless throughout our 2 hours stay at the lounge, and bathroom products from DS&D URGA were made available.
There’s a room specifically for TV viewing. This room is fitted with several single-seater chairs and stools.
Be it the Admirals Club, or the Flagship Lounge, all the American Airlines lounges located at Gate D30 offers a great view of the aprons. It’s a perfect place where you can plane spot several widebody aircrafts pulling up and out.
MY VERDICT:
The American Airlines Flagship lounge Miami is an oasis where passengers can enjoy a delicious meal and premium drinks before their flights. More peaceful and provided a calm experience away from the hustle and bustle of the airport terminals. Though accessing this lounge is more restricted compared to the Admirals Club, and the lounge does get crowded occasionally, but the lounge offers amenities that makes traveling a little easier.
Have you been to any of the American Airlines Flagship Lounge before? We’d love to hear about your experience.
