Flying in American Airlines Flagship Business in Boeing 777 is one of our best options when it comes to Transcontinental flights. And Mrs. The Points Engineer is a fan of the Casper bedding set that the airline utilizes on its’ flights. in conclusion to our Round-The-World Honeymoon trip, we flew the Flagship Business class from Miami to Los Angeles.
American Airlines operates both the widebody Boeing 777 and narrowbody Airbus A321T for this route, of which we picked the flight on the Boeing 777. I have already published a review of the American Airlines Airbus A321T in the past, which I flew from San Francisco to New York JFK.
As American Airlines flagship business class passengers, we were granted access into the Flagship Lounge Miami Airport, a lounge which boasts an experience on its’ own.

Fast forward to two hours later, we made our way to the boarding gate right as they were boarding Group 1. As a Oneworld Emerald, I’ve always known American Airlines boarding process to be chaotic, but the process was less chaotic than I’ve seen many times.
We were offered pre-departure beverage a moment after we settled into our seats. The seat provided enough privacy and ample legroom. It was also comfortable in fully lie-flat mode.
There were Casper bedding amenities waiting for us on the seat, a bottle of water, amenity kit, and noise canceling headphone were all placed in the storage compartments by the window.
Flying into or out of Miami can be so exciting, especially when you’re seated upfront and looking through the window enjoying views like these.
The food and beverage service began shortly after takeoff, and we began the inflight experience with warm nuts and beverages.
Options like Small Plate, Main Plates, Dessert, Light Refreshments, and beverages were all listed on the menu. For my main course, I opted for the Gorgonzola-Crusted Beet Filet (balsamic Demi-glacé, potato gratin, asparagus, blistered tomatoes…which was nicely presented and even tasted better than it looked. Dessert option was lemon tart.

Amenity kit consists of socks, eye mask, earplugs, dental kit, and a small hand & body lotion from D. S. & DURGA. The amenity kit was provided in a black Shinola Detroit bag.
The seat in the American Airlines Flagship Business Class cabin featured a 15-inch in-flight entertainment (IFE) touch screen, and a Bang & Olufsen noise canceling headphone was also provided.
The flight attendants on this flight did a commendable job by keeping the lavatory in a good shape throughout the flight. Available in the lavatory were Bigelow bath products.
Although this was an afternoon flight, but the cabin lights were dim, and majority of the passengers were asleep. At this point, I thought I should also get some sleep in before our arrival at the “city of angels” (Los Angeles). I was able to get in 2 hours of sleep with about an hour to go. The seat was comfortable in lie-flat mode, and the bedding felt quite luxurious.
Snacks and beverages were made available at the galley just before the business class cabin lavatory for passengers to help themselves out.
Our flight landed at Tom Bradley International Airport Terminal 4 at 5:42pm. Overall, this was a great flight. The American Airlines Flagship Business has always been a great way to travel coast-to-coast for us, and the Flagship Lounge is always a bonus.
We usually target American Airlines “web special,” which is one of the best ways to book this flight at a reasonable price when we’re not booking with points/miles.
