Al Mourjan Lounge Doha Review
by Kayode
Located on Level 3 at Hamad International Airport, the Qatar Airways exquisite Al Mourjan Lounge Doha is widely regarded as one of the most impressive business class lounges in the world. The lounge encompasses a vast space, ensuring ample room for guests to relax and unwind. It boasts a sophisticated and elegant design, with high ceilings, luxurious furnishings, and contemporary décor that exude a sense of opulence.
From Qatar Airways Qsuite Boeing 777-300ER flight to a refreshing stay in downtown Doha, we were ready for the next adventure. Returning to the quiet airport at 4 AM, silence spoke volumes after a sleepless night. After a smooth immigration clearance taking advantage of the Qatar Airways Premium Check-in benefit, it was no doubt that the airline is truly setting the tone for a seamless travel experience.
We spent a short time around the most photographed item at the airport, the “Lamp Bear,” taking a few pictures before heading towards the lounge.
With four hours to spare before our next flight to Lagos, Nigeria, we eagerly ventured up the escalator leading directly into the Al Mourjan Lounge, Doha after our boarding passes were checked for eligibility by one of the friendly staff of the airline.
Access & Operating Hours:
Operating hours of the Al Mourjan Lounge are designed to accommodate travelers with varying flight schedules. The lounge is open 24 hours every day, ensuring access for passengers throughout the day and night. This flexibility allows guests to enjoy the lounge’s amenities regardless of their departure or arrival times. Access to the Lounge is for Qatar Airways and oneworld passengers traveling in First Class and Business Class only, while other Qatar Airways passengers can purchase access to get in.
Amenities:
The lounge boasts a wide range of amenities to cater to guests’ needs. As we settled in on some of their cozy chairs, we were greeted with warm hospitality and offered refreshing towels to freshen up.

The lounge features numerous seating areas, including comfortable lounge chairs, private seating pods, and dedicated workspaces. These areas cater to various preferences and purposes, whether it’s relaxation, socializing, or getting work done.
Food & Beverage:
The Al Mourjan Lounge Doha also features multiple dining areas adorned with elegant dining chairs and tables. With a buffet station offering a delectable array of dishes, guests have the freedom to explore a variety of flavors and create their own culinary adventures.

But the luxury doesn’t stop at the buffet station. For those seeking a more personalized dining experience, guests can relax in the comfort of their seats and enjoy a-la-carte options. The lounge staff is dedicated to catering to every culinary desire, ensuring that guests are treated to a dining experience tailored to their preferences.
We couldn’t resist sampling the culinary delights on offer, even at the early hour of 4:30 in the morning. To our surprise, the lounge still served dinner, and we wasted no time in ordering from the menu. The flavors were exquisite, and we relished every bite. Although it was exactly 4:30am which is the time the lounge stop taking dinner orders, we were still accommodated, and our orders were brought out in no time.
Indulging in the dessert options at the lounge was a true pleasure, allowing us to satisfy our sweet tooth which elevated our lounge experience to new heights. Available on offer were rich and creamy cakes, delicate pastries, and lots more.

The bar at the Al Mourjan Lounge also offers a superb selection of premium liquors and non-alcoholic luxury bubbles to elevate guests’ lounge experience.
Plane Spotting:
One of the standout features of the Al Mourjan Lounge is its panoramic view of the airport apron and the slightly far away downtown. The lounge offers expansive windows that provide guests with captivating views of the tarmac, allowing them to witness the comings and goings of aircraft while enjoying their time in the lounge. This adds an extra element of fascination and connection to the travel experience.
Service Excellence:
One aspect of the lounge that impressed us the most was its’ well-equipped business center where we found all the necessary tools to attend to any work needs. Equipped with modern amenities and state-of-the-art facilities, the business center at the Al Mourjan Lounge is truly a world-class gem, catering to the needs of busy professionals and digital nomads alike.
High-speed internet access, comfortable workstations, and private meeting rooms are available, ensuring that you can stay connected and focused on your tasks. The dedicated staff is on hand to assist with any business-related needs, from printing and scanning documents to providing technical support. Although I personally think the business center was kind of overkill, but I’m not complaining of too-good stuff here.

Entertainment Options:
For those seeking entertainment, the lounge’s game room proved to be a delightful surprise. Equipped with two game consoles, each boasting a 40-inch TV screen, it provided a perfect opportunity to unwind and indulge in some gaming fun.
In addition to its remarkable amenities, the Al Mourjan Lounge provides a range of services to enhance the overall comfort of guests. These include smoking room, family spaces, parent’s room, prayer room, private shower suites, complete with luxurious amenities, allowing passengers to freshen up and rejuvenate before or after their flights.
Unfortunately, during our visit, all the sleeping pods in the quiet area were occupied, preventing us from experiencing their comfort firsthand. However, based on the lounge’s overall attention to detail and dedication to guest comfort, we can only imagine that these pods provide a peaceful and restful retreat for weary travelers.
Peak Time:
After strolling through the entire lounge, exploring, and reviewing its various amenities, I developed a craving for a quick breakfast before my departure. As the morning rush began to pick up, I made my way to the dining area in search of a satisfying morning meal.
Amidst the morning rush at the lounge, a vibrant energy filled the air. Travelers bustling about, eager to start their day, added a chaotic atmosphere to the space. Despite the busy ambiance, the lounge staff efficiently catered to the high turnover of guests, establishing a waitlist, and ensuring a seamless experience during this peak time.
About 15 minutes later, my last name was announced, and it was time to go back to the dining hall upstairs. As I joined the breakfast queue at one of the buffet stations, the anticipation of a delicious meal and the buzz of fellow travelers created an exciting atmosphere, setting the tone for another day of travel ahead. Feeling unimpressed with the buffet spread, I opted for the a-la-carte menu instead. Seeking another personalized dining experience, just like we had a few hours earlier.
In Conclusion:
Overall, the Al Mourjan Lounge Doha lives up to its reputation as the best business class lounge in the world. Its spaciousness, operating hours, exclusive access, top-notch amenities, exceptional food and beverage offerings, captivating views of the apron, and additional services make it a truly outstanding and memorable experience for us.
We left the lounge feeling pampered, refreshed, and eager to return. Without a doubt, the Al Mourjan Lounge is a must-visit for anyone seeking a truly luxurious and indulgent airport experience when flying out of Doha.
