The Westin Washington Dulles Airport Hotel Review
Within the past 3 months I have frequent Dulles VA / Washington DC about five times. Having stayed at Washington Dulles Airport Hotel a few times, on my last trip I thought I should explore other Marriott hotels around. Hence, I booked the Westin Washington Dulles.
As at during my stay here, I was still a Platinum Elite member (with 60-nights stay this year). I must say that one thing I’ve enjoyed as an elite member is being able to check in as early as 8am on the day of arrival. I have been enjoying this privilege since I was a Marriott Gold Elite member. As a matter of fact, I was able to check in at 6am at Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel even as a Gold Elite member back in May 2019. Although most of my stays at each of these hotels are minimum of five days. Maybe that’s the reason why, I have no idea. Have you enjoyed the same privilege also? Leave me a comment below.
As always, I had checked in through the app 48 hours in advance, and then stopped by at the check in counter at the lobby to pick up my room keys. I think it’s high time Marriott embrace this technology of making our room keys available in the app, so we don’t get to stop by at the lobby picking up the keys.

At check in, I was given five breakfast vouchers, since the hotel does not have a concierge lounge. And by the way, i love reading the part on that voucher that says, “Your Continental Breakfast, Our Treat”.
My king size corner room is spacious enough, especially considering the fact that it was just me myself and I on a business trip. Located at the very end of the concierge floor (8thfloor), which is the highest floor of the hotel. The hotel offers plush beds which I found to be plush and very comfortable to sleep on.

Personally, if the hotel doesn’t have views, I’m not interested. I like to leave the curtain blinds open. I watched the views much more than I watch TVs.

The room is stocked with complimentary bottles of water, there is also a coffee machine as well. A lounge chair is present in the room, there’s also a work desk and chair for you to get some work done or catch up on emails from your laptop. Complimentary internet is provided (both wireless and wired). Elite members get enhanced WiFi, for free. Although I did not perform a speed-test of the internet, but I found it to be pretty fast and reliable.

The marble bathroom has plenty of space. The spa-like walk-in shower (about 7 feet) featured Westin Heavenly Rain shower head which has good water pressure. This is actually my favorite part of the bathroom, as I found the shower to be relaxing. On the plus side, this hotel also provides a refreshing mouthwash in the bathroom. I found that to be a good gesture since not all hotels provides that.
The Westin signature robe is also present in the bathroom for your use.
There is also a full-size mirror on the wall by the hallway, which I found to be very useful. Especially for ladies.

Thanks to being Marriott Platinum Elite member (I’m now Titanium actually with 85 nights so far this year). Breakfast was great all through my entire six days stay at this property. The Padella Restaurant gets busy in the morning during breakfast, which is expected.
The restaurant has a buffet area with quite a lot of options to choose from. Potatoes, Bacons, Eggs, Bread, Fresh fruits, Cereal, Yoghurt, etc. there’s also an egg station where you can have a made-to-order egg. Which I found very useful, since I love my omelets with pepper, onion, and some vegetables.
There is also an a-la-carte menu to choose from.

There is also a full-size gym which I found very helpful. There’s an indoor pool which I couldn’t use. The pool closes at 9pm, and that time didn’t work for me as a business traveler. Parking is free at this hotel. The hotel’s parking garage is adjacent to the hotel property, and spans about 5 floors I believe. I found the free parking to be very helpful.
There’s also a free airport shuttle, which I didn’t use since I have a rental car. But I found the shuttle to be a plus as well.
In Conclusion:
I really enjoyed my stay at the Westin Washington Dulles Airport Hotel. From the check in attendant to the friendly and attentive staff at the Padella restaurant, everything made me felt at home. I like the fact that the hotel offers complimentary water, and the free parking is also a plus. Although the staff at the restaurant were friendly and attentive, but I found the service to be a bit slow. During breakfast, I asked that the breakfast potatoes be replenished, and I waited and waited. I took about ten minutes before they eventually replenished it. By this time, I already moved on, since I had work to go to. another downside is the fact that the restaurant does not have much options on its menu for dinner.
But overall, I’m impressed with the hotel, and I’ll be back again.
