Located at the corner of Mason and Post Streets, just a block away from Union Square in San Francisco, the JW Marriott San Francisco hotel is in a great location whether you’re visiting for business or pleasure.
We had a little staycation in San Francisco after exploring Santa Cruz, California on the day after Christmas, and the JW Marriott San Francisco was just perfect for our short stay in the city.
Being a Saturday and a day after Christmas, there were plenty of streets parking available and we didn’t have to worry about how expensive the self/valet parking was at the hotel. On arrival, both the valet and bell men were courteous and welcomed us with a friendly smile.
We were asked to take the glass elevator to third floor where the lobby is located for check-in.
The lobby on the third floor was quiet on arrival. As a matter of fact, the hotel was not more than 30% of its capacity per our observations during our stay. It is worth stating that the hotel did an amazing job with its’ COVID-19 safetyand clean commitment as there were hand sanitization stations at almost every corner in the lobby and elevator.

Our room on the 16th floor was ready as early as 8:00am in the morning and we received a push notification on the Marriott Bonvoy’s app. With this, we didn’t have to stop by at the front desk for check-in.
Our room was well apportioned and more of a room at a boutique hotel. The bed was elegant and the pillowtop mattress was comfortable. The room also featured a sectional for lounging, flat TV, work desk and chair, multiple tables, and a mini fridge.

The marble bathroom was elegant and has plenty of room. Although there was no bathtub which is a common thing for many city hotels, but the walk-in shower was spotless, and the water pressure was really good. The bathroom also featured a single-vanity sink.
For food and beverage, the hotel provided a grab-n-go breakfast from its’ JW Market. For Marriott Bonvoy elites, the hotel was generous enough in its’ breakfast options comparing to other hotels in the same categories.
As at the time of this post, the hotel executive lounge is closed till further notice.
In conclusion, this was a great stay overall and we wouldn’t mind returning here in the future when things are back to normal.
Great post! Would definitely be looking forward to your post of when life gets back to normal.
Thank for reading Abigail. Hopefully we get a chance to revisit this hotel later in the future
