Located across Gate B13 in Harvey Milk Terminal 1 of San Francisco International (SFO) Airport, this American Airlines Admirals Club is a replacement of the former lounge located in Terminal 2. After its’ opening in October 2020, The Points Engineer visited the lounge before his American Airlines Flagship Business flight on the Airbus A321 Transcon from San Francisco to New York (JFK).
After spending some time having a great breakfast at The Centurion Lounge SFO, I decided to stop by at the Admirals Club San Francisco Airport for a quick review. It’s worth noting that the Centurion Lounge SFO is in Terminal 3 and there is no connection between these 2 terminals. It would require you to pass through TSA security twice.
I was checked in by a friendly and courteous staff on the concourse level, and in no time, I was up on the stairs on my way into the lounge.

With comfortable seats and power outlets at almost every angle, the Admirals Club SFO has a layout like some of the other newly refreshed Admirals Clubs. There were only a handful of passengers present at the lounge during our visit.

There are plenty of chairs and tables available at the dining area with limited power outlets. Although the food items were limited to pre-packaged snacks, but the bar was fully operational during our stay. There’s also a soda and a coffee machine from which you can help yourself out.
At the time of this review, the lounge was operating between the hours of 5:00 am and 3:30 pm due to decrease in demand as a result of the travel restrictions caused by COVID-19. But as at the time of this post, the lounge now closes at 11:30 pm.
For health and safety reasons, other amenities like the Kids Room, Business Center, Showers, etc. were not available during our visit. But to our surprise, the conference room was made available.
The restroom was spotless and in good shape, and featured designer bath products from Bigelow.

Got some time to snooze before your flight? This lounge has a quiet zone which provides some level of privacy with daybeds available.
To round off this review, I ran a quick test on the available internet at this lounge and the WiFi speed test returned a 78.72 Mbps download and 81.99 Mbps upload speeds respectively.
Overall, the Admirals Club SFO has a great ambience with a touch of quality of service. It was also great seeing the lounge finally operational after months of closure. Though this review occurred while there were still travel restrictions across many cities, only time will tell of what becomes of the lounge when travel is fully back to its’ peak.
